Charles Edwin Ware Sr was born May 30, 1965 to Elder Otho Jr. and Mother Georgia Mae
Ware in Stockton, CA. He was the eleventh of fifteen children. He was known for
reminding everyone he met that God is Faithful.
Charles went to school in Stockton, CA where he developed a great love for the arts.
During his youth and young adulthood, he was involved in several plays and shows,
often at the encouragement of his older brother Minister Tommie Muhammad. Charles
graduated from Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in 1983 and soon after he began the
journey to fulfill his purpose.
Charles met the love of his life, LaWanda Evans, and the age of twelve during a church
fellowship and became acquainted at the age of sixteen when he decided “I’m going to
marry her”. Charles indeed married her in Reno, CA August 4, 1984. Charles and Lawanda
would have three children: Jocelyn, Charles, Jr., and Brittany Ware.
Charles and LaWanda were faithful members of Christ Temple Apostolic Church under
the ministry of the late Bishop Lewis D. Stallworth, Sr. where Charles’ relationship with
the Lord was cultivated. He would leave Christ Temple at the leading of the Lord to
attend Westcoast World Outreach Center (Formerly Faith Center ) as the Minister of
Music under the ministry of Bishop Mark and Pastor Jordana Filkey until he and his
family would make their home in Fayetteville North Carolina where Charles would
become the Associate Pastor of World Faith Clinic Church under Prophet Charles F.
Young, Sr in 1993.
Charles and LaWanda would return home to start New Birth Christian Center
(formerly Breath of Life Outreach Center) in March 1997 with the assistance of his
parents Elder and Mother Ware. His sister, the late Dorothy Ware-Mitchell would
soon join the church to assist her younger brother in achieving his mission. His first
service was held in their living room on Easter Sunday immediately following their
return. When he returned home, Charles cultivated relationships with other pastors
and city leaders to pursue his passion of reaching the lost in his home city.
Charles and LaWanda ministered in the women’s home, at the prisons and when feeding
the homeless with the mission of taking this glorious gospel from the neighborhood
to the nations. From this passion, Charles & LaWanda founded New Birth Community
Development to bridge the community with resources they lacked and Life Fellowship
of Churches and Ministers in order to continue to draw, disciple, and deploy. Charles
was installed as Bishop on April 28, 2018 and continued his legacy by mentoring pastors
across the country. He was the overseer of the Experience Church led by Pastors Raul
and Nancy Rangel in Corpus Christi, TX.
Along with these accomplishments, Charles was also a recording artist, known for his
song “Holding On” which was used as a tool to minister to people. Songs like “Stand”
and “Thank You Lord” were staples at New Birth Christian Center. Charles was an
amazing musician and often times could be heard playing songs of praise and worship
in his home, the birthplace of ministry.
While he was an amazing pastor, Charles’ first ministry was at home with first his wife
and children, and then his grandchildren: Briyanna, Benjamin, Jeremiah, Charles,
Christian, Jayden, Caleb, and Cailin. Charles often received special visits from his bonus
grands David, Jaxson and Wyatt Rich. Charles was present for trips to the beach,
awards ceremonies, recitals, track meets, football games, and visits to the principal’s
office. His grandchildren brought true joy to his life.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Elder Otho & Mother Georgia Mae Ware,
